Bio


I am the  Lead Data Scientist and Data Enterprise Manager at the Student Success Through Applied Research (SSTAR) Lab at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Prior to joining the SSTAR Lab, I was the Associate Director of Research at the Postsecondary National Policy Institute.

I am also finishing a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. My research focuses on the intersection of higher education, geography, and mobility with particular interest in equity of access to education, the role postsecondary institutions play in their regional political economies, policies surrounding migration and “brain drain,” and the economics of higher education.

In addition to my research interests, I have a passion for data visualization, program evaluation, public policy analysis, quantitative methodology, and causal inference.

My previous work includes as a project assistant with the Student Success Through Applied Research (SSTAR) Lab and a research fellow at both the Institute for Research on Poverty and the Center for the Study of College-Workforce Transitions.  I have a bachelor's degree in Secondary Education with a dual specialization in History and English and a master's degree in Higher Education Administration from the University of Louisville (UofL). While at UofL, I worked as a researcher in Organizational Development and Evaluation. Previous work experiences range from an Assistant Operations Coordinator at Ft. Knox U.S. Military Base to a teacher candidate in the Jefferson County Public School System.
